Rachael is a licensed professional counselor with years of experience working with all ages and a variety of concerns and needs. No problem is too big or small, whether it is adjustment to life stressors or coping with traumatic circumstances. Typical problem areas addressed in sessions with Rachael include stress from work or any areas of life, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, anger issues, and relationship issues including improving communication. As a counselor, Rachael strives to make the process collaborative with each client, ensuring that each client receives a therapy experience that addresses his or her personal needs. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, which have been proven to be effective for treatment of anxiety and depression.
In addition to serving as a therapist for adults, Rachael also enjoys being a counselor for children and families. She has expertise in dealing with difficult parent/child relationships, as well as difficult teen behavior. Rachael has special training in play therapy techniques and TF-CBT, a specific form of therapy for traumatized children and teens. Typical problem areas Rachael addresses as a counselor to children include reaction to stressors such as divorce, major life changes, loss, parent and child relationship problems, childhood anxiety and depression, disruptive behavior, defiance, aggression, and ADHD assessments and treatment. Children enjoy Rachael’s methods as a therapist and consistently ask to come back!
Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Rachael moved to NWA in 2001 to study at the University of Arkansas. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in counseling from the U of A in 2008, and has been providing quality, compassionate and informed therapy services since that time. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son outdoors. Personal hobbies include creative arts and cooking.
