Emily obtained her bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, an academic honor society. She then worked several years at a children’s shelter and knew that social work was where she belonged. Emily earned her master’s degree in Social Work in 2004, and has since gained much experience and knowledge. Emily has a great deal of training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and is certified in Trauma-Focused CBT. She also has extensive training working with relationship issues, substance abuse issues, and individual and family issues. Emily has 25 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of mental health settings, from adult substance abuse to direction of a child and adolescent residential program. Emily greets her clients with an open mind and complete acceptance. She is compassionate, honest, and genuine. Emily has been enjoying living in NWA for over 25 years. During that time she has raised her daughter, who is now married and a pre-med student. Her grandchild is the light of her life. Emily is a reader, collector, and dog lover.
